In 2006 the Ars Topia Foundation organised the Tókert kaláka in Lázárfalva. This was the first time that the kaláka worked on an area owned by a foundation for community purposes. When the András Foundatian asked us to carry out this work, we did not know it yet that it would be the beginning of a series of kalákas actually continuing until today. The kalákas that have been going on for years are just as much about work as folk dancing and getting to know various folk arts and crafts. On the estate there are several springs whose waters are used for the maintenance of the cottage. We sorted out the plumbing works and we have also constructed the community areas needed for the summer camps: communal and playing spaces and open-air showers. Children’s camps and folk dance events have also been organised on the estate, and whoever visits the place will probably learn to value natural resources more.
